It was in June 2016 when Regine Tolentino confirmed her split up with her husband, Lander Vera-Perez. In an interview, she revealed that she has already cut ties with Perez even before her confirmation.
“I’ve been happy naman (in my marriage). Kaya para matapos siya ng ganun na lang, sometimes ang hirap talagang tanggapin,” she told Pep.
According to her, it was quite a challenge to part ways with her husband considering the fact that they have two daughters.

"At first, kaming tatlo, lost na lost kami kung papaano kami kikilos, tatlong babae lang," she said.
However, she revealed that after what had happened, they became stronger and more independent.
But how is she doing a year after their split up?
In a recent interview with the actress, she revealed that that she's now just waiting for the decision of the court regarding her case with her husband, Lander Vera-Perez.
She revealed that since Lander hasn't been attending the hearings, things would be easier for their part.
“No. We just treat it, my daughters and I, as if wala na siya, because he’s completely out of our lives. No communication, no help whatsoever.”
She also added that despite parting ways, parents should still be sending child support for their children.
“I still think the father should provide and help the children no matter what the situation is. Every child deserves support and the presence of their father, but in my case, it’s different, so I have accepted it."
“I’m doing the best I can with what I have and the opportunities that come my way. I’m just blessed that I have a lot of work, and I’m able to support my children on my own."
“Things are going very well. I’m blessed na hindi ako nawawalan ng work. As advised by my lawyer, after every thing’s done then, perhaps, I can request in behalf of my children, what to do for them.”
Regine is also hoping that by the end of the year, things would be better for them.
“That’s my Christmas wish. Matapos na lahat yung mga hearings, toxic for me and the kids pero matatapos na rin iyan.”
